You Have Time

A few weeks ago I began taking an Alexander Technique class for actors.  The class deals with connecting to breath, body alignment and how they are used to embody different characters.  During the class the teachers have us repeat the phrase “I HAVE TIME” to ourselves as we are doing breath and movement work as well as before we work on our material.

In just a few weeks this phrase “I HAVE TIME” has had a profound affect on my life.  In a society where we are expected to respond and react at lightning speed, I tend to feel rushed constantly; especially when juggling projects, auditions, work, writing, family and trying to squeeze in a social life.
