Over the years I have developed a 7-Step system that works for me when I’m producing, it is a simple breakdown of what needs to be done to mount a theatrical production and helps keep me focused.  Here is a brief overview of “The 7 Steps”, we also offer a through breakdown of the steps in our Theatre Producing 101 1-Day Intensive.

1 – SCRIPT DEVELOPMENT – Has your script been flushed out?  Have you read it with a group of actors?  Have the actors read it for the audience?  Did you receive feedback?

2 – FUNDRAISING/BUDGET – How much will it take to produce the play?  It is a reading? Workshop? Festival Piece or Full Production? Where will the funding come from?

3 – FINDING YOUR TEAM – Who do you have and who do you need? Producer, Director, Stage Manager, Composer, Choreographer, Set Designer, Carpenter, Lighting Designer, Board Operator…
