I don’t like to tell this story for several reasons, but for the sake of education I find it necessary.
I was producing a play in the Hollywood Fringe Festival a couple of years ago. A friend was directing the play and brought me on to assist the writer and show her how to produce. The director and I had a creative history, we were part of a company in NY together. He was talented, had good instincts and was a solid director. After the Preview we received a favorable review and were all excited to move forward with the run at the Fringe.
